About Me
I started playing tennis in 1979, and taught myself by playing my brother and watching Borg on TV. I went on to college at Florida A&M University, and I walked on to the tennis team as the no. 5 player. In the summer of 1990 I took a position as the tennis professional in the National Youth Sports Program at FAMU. While on the golf course I met the director of tennis for the city of Tallahassee, and he offered me a job teaching for the city. I started teaching young children and a year later I became certified with the USPTA as a certified instructor. I was then asked to be head professional for the First Serve program at Jake Gaither, the USTA's after-school and minority development program. My site was selected to kick off the USTA'S 13-site campaign in florida. I ran the program for three years before moving back to fort Walton Beach. I string racquets for very reasonable prices and usually offer next day service, and I offer polyester and nylon string combos.
Teaching Style
I like to teach the fundamentals to start, and then it depends on the student. I like to teach the mental and strategic aspect of the game as well as the serve. My lessons are structured to the student's needs and how I can get them to their intended goal.
