About Me
With over 15 years of experience as a dedicated physical education teacher for grades Pre-K through 12, I have fostered a deep passion for teaching and coaching students of all ages. I started playing tennis at the age of nine, competing in both singles and doubles throughout high school and continuing my journey on a club team in college.
Incorporating tennis into my curriculum has always been a true passion of mine, as I believe in the physical and mental benefits of the sport. My goal is to share my love, joy, and expertise with students through engaging private and group lessons. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced player aiming to refine your skills, I am committed to creating a positive and supportive environment that encourages growth and enjoyment in the game.
Let’s elevate your tennis experience together!
Teaching Style
As a tennis instructor, my teaching style is rooted in a holistic approach that emphasizes skill development, enjoyment, and personal growth. Here are some key aspects of my approach:
Personalized Instruction: I assess each student's unique strengths and areas for improvement, tailoring lessons to meet their specific needs and goals. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, I aim to create a customized learning experience.
Fundamental Skills: I emphasize the importance of mastering the fundamentals—footwork, grip, strokes, and strategy. Building a strong foundation is crucial for long-term success and enjoyment of the game.
Positive Environment: I strive to create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable to learn, make mistakes, and ask questions. My goal is to instill confidence and a love for the game.
Engaging Drills and Games: To keep lessons fun and dynamic, I incorporate a variety of drills and games that promote skill development while keeping students engaged and motivated. This approach helps reinforce learning in an enjoyable way.
Focus on Physical Fitness: Understanding the physical demands of tennis, I incorporate exercises that improve agility, strength, and endurance, ensuring students not only enhance their tennis skills but also their overall athleticism.
Game Strategy and Mental Resilience: I emphasize the importance of strategy and mental toughness in matches. I teach students how to analyze their opponents and develop effective game plans, along with techniques for maintaining focus and composure during play.
Progress Tracking: I regularly evaluate each student’s progress and provide constructive feedback to help them stay on track toward their goals. Celebrating milestones is an integral part of my teaching philosophy.
Through this comprehensive approach, I aim to cultivate a lifelong love for tennis in my students while equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to excel on the court.
