About Me
Learn from a coach who has attended Nike Tennis Camp for 2 years and was also an instructor there for 2 years. Learning from Craig Tiley and other University of Illinois coaches to understand the progression of skill in a tennis player. Instructed over 500 players ranging from 11 to 17. Critiqued every tennis shot using a progression in depth and placement of racquet to make sure the skills translated to full court play. I just got back from playing in a tennis tournament in my hometown and it was so fun to play again. I enjoy the progress needed to be good in tennis and then coupling that with strategy to make you great.
Teaching Style
I am a middle school math teacher, so I use my skills to get to know my clients very well. If the client is younger, I will start off by analyzing their skills so far through some mini-tennis, feeding. I’ve had parents request ideas for each lesson as well. For older clients, I start by doing a hitting session with the first and take note of key ideas to focus on (footwork, grip, movement, swing, depth, etc.) Each lesson afterwards would would focus on skills/progressions of each swing/movement building up to more game-like activities at the end of each lesson.
