About Me
Hi, my name is Raul and I was born in Barcelona, Spain. I am currently the men's and women's assistant tennis coach at University of Illinois Springfield. I have recently graduated from Young Harris College where I played NCAA tennis throughout these last 4 year and hold the YHC record for most wins in singles (64) and doubles (66) in the program's NCAA era. Furthermore, I have over 6 years of coaching experience which include:
- Assistant Director of High Performance at Genesis Health Clubs (Wichita, Kansas)
- Tennis camp counselor/ Match play director at Carmel Valley Tennis Camp (Carmel, California)
- Private lessons at Young Harris College (Georgia)
- Tennis pro & Team Coach at Club Tennis Salut (Barcelona, Spain)
Teaching Style
Throughout my coaching career I have worked with players ranging from beginners to high performance players. Thus, I have delivered high quality results to a broad set of players. My background makes me specially qualified for those young junior players who are trying to get a college scholarship. Before starting our lessons we will sit down and write down your goals so I can better address your needs as tennis players. From my lessons you can expect dynamic sessions were hitting and drilling are combined to take your game to the next level.
