About Me
Hi, I’m Nate, and I’ve been passionate about tennis since I first picked up a racket at age 10. I played all four years of varsity tennis in high school, earning a USTA ranking and receiving offers to compete at the Division II collegiate level. After my playing career, I transitioned into coaching, leading both boys' and girls' high school tennis teams—coaching the girls' team for five years.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in fundamentals, consistency, and smart strategy. Tennis is a game of minimizing unforced errors, and the key to success lies in controlling points through smart shot selection, aggressive net play, and applying pressure on your opponent. I teach my students how to recognize opportunities to attack, keep the ball in play, and develop a winning mindset.
I believe improvement comes from a mix of technical skill, mental toughness, and a growth mindset. Mistakes are inevitable in tennis—it’s how you respond to them that matters. My coaching style focuses on positive reinforcement, helping players build confidence, stay resilient, and continuously refine their game. Whether you're a beginner looking to master the basics or a competitive player aiming to sharpen your skills, I’m here to help you reach your full potential on the court.
Let's work together to elevate your game!
Teaching Style
My lessons begin with fundamental warm-ups, followed by drills tailored to each player's needs—whether it's volleying, serving, or overall consistency. As a former serve-and-volley player, I emphasize taking balls early, playing aggressively, and attacking the net when possible. I teach players how to apply pressure on their opponents while maintaining smart shot selection. Each session ends with competitive gameplay to reinforce skills in a match-like setting, ensuring players develop both technical ability and strategic awareness.
