About Me
I played junior tennis in the Western Tennis Assoication, was a top junior on the Midtown Chicago travel tennis team, was in the Junior Excellence Program and was a Chicago Park District Championship junior and played in the Illinois State Games Tennis Championship. I played college tennis at the University of Illinois-Chicago, taught tennis at Homewood Flossmore in Homewood, IL, at McClurg Court Sports Center in Chicago, IL, and at Downtown Sports Club, in Chicago, IL. I teach children, juniors and adults in semi-private, private and group settings. At McClurg Court Sports Center Chicago I worked under tennis director Frank Parker, who played in the French Championships in 1948 and 1949 and the U.S. Championships in 1944 and 1945. Frank gave me a lot of insight into the game, stroke development, teaching style and most of all having fun and being passionate about sport that you can play for your entire life.
Teaching Style
In my lessons I discuss student goals and structure lessons to meet those goals. Each student's needs are unique. We will have fun with development and growth on the court. Under my instruction you will see progress; we will practice and improve those areas in which you need help. I give students confidence and ask at end of each lesson if we achieved our goal that day: Did you feel a difference from lesson? Where do you want to go from here?
