Hi, my name is Matthew. Thanks for visiting my home page. I'm looking forward to improving your tennis game, whether you are a beginner or seasoned player competing in USTA tournaments.

I have nearly a decade of coaching experience, spanning high-level juniors to high school students to recreational players. A lifelong tennis player with a USTA 5.0 rating, I have been the head tennis coach at Lakes High School for the past two years. Our (doubles) teams have earned a state tournament and state alternate bid to the Washington state tennis tournament. Before coaching at Lakes High School, I provided tennis instruction at a country club and a youth sports organization.

A competitive player to this day, I placed second and fourth in my state's high school tennis tournament. In college, I was a member of our team's national championship club tennis team, winning the decisive match. Most recently, I have competed in USTA matches representing an area racquet club, earning a USTA 5.0 rating.

My teaching style is interactive and collaborative. More than sharpening your technique, I want to maximize your confidence/self-belief so you can achieve your tennis goals on the court.

A proud serve and volleyer, I am especially skilled at teaching serve technique and volley form. I also prioritize the mental aspect of tennis, specifically discussing ways to channel your best tennis in the most pressure-packed moments.
