About Me

I love tennis! Ever since my mother put me on a tennis court when I was 3 years old, I instantly fell in love with the sport and found that I was quite a natural with it. I hit the ground running in tennis, entering my first competition in the 10s junior division when I was 7 and I continued that trend as I got older. I was always wanting to play people who were better than me because over time I became better than them and advanced accordingly. I made the varsity tennis team my freshman year of high school and was able to compete in regional and state competitions multiple years in a row. I made the choice not to play as heavily in college as I wanted to focus on my studies but I had the opportunity to do so. Tennis has always been a huge part of my life, I not only understand the game and how to teach it but love to play it myself. Tennis is a mental game just as much as it is physical if not more. Once one is able to build that solid relationship with the sport, it will always serve you well.

Teaching Style

I think my main style of teaching is pairing fun with learning the game. I was always trained intensely in order to make me stronger but there were also many elements of fun and mental relief that allowed me to foster an amazing relationship with the sport. I like to structure my lessons with a fun warmup, making sure the body is ready to hit. I like to incorporate objectives for the lesson: what do we need to work on today, what are the main focuses. I then like to get into drills and focusing on the technique and spend the rest of the lesson applying the technique with either hitting or match play or point play.
