About Me

My name is Justin, and I have been teaching tennis since becoming USPTA Certified Teaching Professional in 1996. I played #2 high school varsity tennis for Harriton High Schoolin Bryn Mawr, PA, then played #2 for Northeastern University (Division I), both years recording a 17-5 (W-L) record while making Academic Athletic Honors in the NAC (North Atlantic Conference). I then taught tennis for more than a decade at various prestigious clubs around the Boston area honing my craft, teaching style, ability to communicate, learning new drills, games, etc. . I am very familiar with all surfaces including grass, red clay, har-tru, cement, as well as different rubber and felt/carpet. I taught tennis, played competitively in tournaments, and in the Central Mass. Indoor Tennis league for years in Boston area at a 6.0- NTRP level, consistently beating 5.0 and 5.5 level players. However, I always considered myself a better instructor than tennis player. This is a direct result of working with some of the best instructors myself, and the great lessons I've received, watched, and now given over the years. When playing competitively, my style is an 'aggressive all court player' who can win hugging the baseline and taking the ball on the rise, or serving and volleying, but generally dictating play.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is flexible, depending on the level and ability of the student, as well as what they want to learn, or focus on. I'm comfortable teaching the basics of stroke technique and mechanics to students just beginning, or to teach an intermediate to raise up the weakest part of their game and make it the strongest, or to work with advanced tennis players on finer details, such as match strategy, point construction, ritualization, mental toughness & body language training, or just having a high level hitting partner, etc. I pride myself on all the drills I know. I guarantee I will make your tennis lessons fun while your game improves quickly. While I love teaching private and semi-private lessons, I specialize in groups of either 4, or 8, and my rates go down considerably depending on the numbers of people. I also love teaching kids, including groups of kids. However, it is very important all groups be made up of people with similar ability levels, which helps everyone to have fun. Call me, and let's get on court! Thanks, Justin
