About Me

Hi, my name is Javon. I am an former college player who has been working as a coach for 20 years in the Bay Area. I have experience working with Nationally Ranked Juniors as well as competitive adults, intermediate and beginner players of all ages. During my time as a coach I have taken many jobs at various levels in the industry including captaining the National Zone Team representing USTA Northern California as well as working for several years as a USTA Early Development Coach at the National Training Center in Northern California. I have also been a tournament director, junior director for competition, junior programs director and proud son of a nationally ranked junior.

During my time coaching I have learned many things, but most importantly that in order to improve, you need a well informed coach and a solid game plan. I pride myself on trying to be and offer both of those things. I am now heading Gripspin Tennis as owner and head instructor and am head coach at a local high school. I value every minute I have on court helping people and giving them the courage and motivation to meet their tennis needs.
