About Me
Hi! I'm Isa, a UC Berkeley graduate and new touring pro. I'm currently ranked #32 in the US (USTA Open Standings). In addition to tennis, I have several years' experience coaching Olympic Weightlifting and Strength & Conditioning. After taking a break from tennis to focus on my Olympic Weightlifting career, I returned to the game in 2021 and have recently played (and won!) my first ITF Tour matches. I love the personal connections forged from teaching/coaching, and I love seeing my students improve in both their skills and self-confidence!
Teaching Style
My teaching style emphasizes footwork and stroke production based on biomechanical principles rather than a "do this because it is correct" approach. Applying this approach to my own game has allowed me, a woman standing 5'4", to hit serves at 110mph+. For intermediate and advanced players of all ages, I also offer insights on shot selection and point construction/tactics that can help take your game to the next level.
No matter what the focus of our lessons is, I employ a teaching and communication style that is easy to understand and never condescending, developed through years of athletics coaching and academic tutoring.
