Having earned a PHD degree at a Pier One university, my expertise is analyzing students' skills and work out the best route of improvement.

- Testimonial:

Amina-

" I have been taking tennis lessons from coach Howard for a year now. I can’t thank coach enough for bringing me so much joy. I started tennis late in my life. Coach helped me develop the right form to avoid injury, improve balance and enhance coordination. I am happy I found coach Howard."

- Success story:

Marcus used to be a defensive tackle (DT) of NCAA football. At 5'10", he was 245lbs when first came to me.

Marcus was committed to tennis, sometimes he drove an hour one way to lessons twice during the weekend. He was like a sponge and learned everything, including serve and return. After 9 months, I suggested him to play locally instead of driving the distance.

Not only did Marcus take the advice, but he started playing in a 2.5 league.

Last time I checked he was 200 lbs; he must have lost more weight by now.

Teaching Style

Test students' skills via brief period of hitting, then work out a plan according to their weaknesses.
For beginners, start at forehand, then backhand, volley, lastly serve and return.
Lessons usually start with warmup like volleys, mini-tennis, followed by areas that need improvement the most, and full court rally if applicable. For students who are ready, points and tiebreakers will be played for transition to matches.
