About Me

Move Your Game To The Nex Level!

... through correct Technique and Fundamentals

I truly love the game. I have over 12 years of experience teaching people how to play tennis (all ages and skill levels). I work with many people around Venice and vecinity. I also conduct clinics/sessions for several very advanced/tournament/ranked players. Based on these sessions, they have been able to perform at and win tournaments. Our step-by-step proven method is focused on modern/advanced technique and fundamentals. It guarantees results.  Our web site contains additional information including excellent testimonials from many people. People learn and/or refine advanced tennis skills like next generation unit turn topspin, slice, netplay, Venice toss/serve, and netplay. Clearly Tennis has many benefits including better health, meeting friends, having fun, and so forth.

I have taught people how to become very competitive (including advanced players for tournament level). Some people have become advanced players with my coaching – in a relatively short period of time. I have reasonable rates to accommodate your needs and budget. I have also spent thousands of hours of community service teaching people how to play tennis and/or training them for competition. I'm an advanced competitive player myself (4.5+) with over 25 years of experience.

In terms of personal information, I have a computing engineering degree and done consulting for several major corporation for more than 15 years. I have also authored several papers published in technical conferences and journals. I'm currently in the process of working on a book that has been accepted for publication -based on the research papers. My two children are grown now and graduated from college with advanced degrees. My oldest son has a PhD in Biomathematics. My younger son is a medical doctor.

He raised my overall game by improving my weaker areas such as- backhand and serve; but also provided opportunities for me to build on my strengths. I appreciated his patience and personal approach. Since my return friends have commented on my improvement and confidence.....Spring training with Ed was excellent for me."

Teaching Style

There are many aspects that differentiate our advanced/accelerated approach from traditional tennis lessons/programs:

- Focused on Modern and Advanced Technique and Fundamentals. People learn and/or refine advanced tennis skills like next generation unit turn topspin, slice, netplay, Venice toss/serve, positioning, strategy, and netplay.

- Personalized/Individualized Step By Step Approach. From extensive experience, I know that tennis requires a substantial amount of personalized/individualized attention to develop correct technique and fundamentals. In particular when advanced/difficult skills are involved. Each  person  has very specific development needs that require individual attention and dedication. I can't stress enough the importance of personalized/individualized attention (one on one).

- Accelerated Approach. Battery of realistic drills and rallies that prepare and train you for real competition and game situations.  Most of the drills are designed to be practiced on your own, with a partner, using a tennis machine, or at the tennis wall for faster learning and progress.

- Reference Materials. Written materials are provided with the sessions related to technique and fundamentals . They include the aspects, drills, and videos that we cover during the session.

I always tailor my lesson plans, style, and drills based on the needs, age, skill level, and preferences of the participants. People play tennis for many reasons, including: fun (recreational), exercise (health), competitive (skill improvement), a combination of these, and so on.
