About Me
My competitive career consisted of 12 years of league tennis in Columbia, Tennessee, capped by two years on the Columbia State College tennis team (1971-1973). I attended Memphis State University and taught lessons to students on a part-time basis. I started my own food business in 1981 and played regularly in league tennis in Savannah, TN, until selling my business and accepting a position at Hardin County High School as a teacher and department chair and varsity tennis coach from 1994 until the present. I served as guest pro at the Freed-Hardeman University Tennis Camps for three years (1996-1999). I have coached seven district team championships, four region team championships three entries in the TSSAA State Tournament with one team reaching the final four in doubles.
Teaching Style
As a team and individual coach, I have developed numerous drills and instruction techniques that address dozens of different types and levels of players. My forté is the service. From simple basic technique to professional level power and spin applications, I have had my share of success.
