The Paley Tennis Center in Glendale is the preeminent indoor facility in the area for tennis lessons. Whether you are looking for kids or adult tennis lessons, paley has you covered. The best thing about Paley is that tennis memberships are completely free. So even though you do have to pay an hourly rate ($88 for 1 hour of private tennis lesson), there is no additional fee required to take advantage of taking indoor lessons. They also have various junior classes and quickstart classes besides private lessons.

MTEF aims to help low-income families and communities to learn a lifetime sport of tennis. In conjunction with the USTA, they provide year-round tennis and youth development programs. Although this is their primary focus, they do offer private tennis lessons and have a whole roster of coaches to choose from. They say specifically that they offer private and intermediate lessons only. Lessons take place at parks such as Dineen Park, Merrill Park, and Wick. You can contact them to be added to their email list so you are always up to date on when they are offering private tennis lessons. You can also sign up with them through Milwaukee Recreation which would bring the price down to $35/hr if you are a Milwaukee resident.

Western Racquet Club, just west of MIlwaukee in Elm Grove, is a well regarded and maintained private club that offers premium tennis lessons. With four indoor courts and 14 outdoor courts, you can take lessons at any time of year but it does require a membership to do so. They have various levels of membership to belong to the club (prices aren’t specified online) but only their top tier class A membership will give you access to tennis. They have half a dozen highly qualified coaches on staff whom you will be able to take lessons from. 

The Town Club

Interested in taking lessons on clay courts? Then The Town Club might be the place for you, but your wallet might not thank you. You can get a full or seasonal pass but between the initiation fee and annual due, you may need to fork over $8000+ to take advantage of the tennis lessons and facility, which include 15 clay courts, as well as the elite swimming and dining. It might be pricey but between the coaches on staff and tennis facilities, these are premium tennis lessons.   

Elite Sports Club

When you belong to Elite Sports club, you have the ability to take a tennis lesson at one of their 35 tennis courts across 4 locations. Elite Clubs do require a membership, which can range from $79-299, depending on club and number of people. They do have a variety of coaches that will dictate the price ranging from $80-$90/hr. Although none of these locations are directly in Milwaukee, the various locations and coach options make Elite Sports an intriguing option when it comes to tennis lesson flexibility.

Down in the southwest part of the metro area is The Village Club in Greendale. The Village Club certainly has a more family-friendly atmosphere about it, and that holds true when it comes to tennis lessons for kids. They have coaches who specialize in breaking lessons into age groups which ensures each lesson is personalized. No matter the age of the person taking lessons, you will have to be a member of the club. There is a waitlist and you will need to contact the club for additional info on price for both memberships and lessons.

Tennis lessons at a historic site in the North Shore along the Milwaukee River. While there is only one indoor court for lessons, it is an architectural splendor that is genuinely one of a kind. Even the outdoor courts being clay is unique in Milwaukee. River Tennis Club does however have a very limited membership, which means it is a rather exclusive tennis lesson. You will have to fill out their waitlist form to get more information for pricing. They do have premier USPTA pros on staff so if you are a tennis fanatic who has that chance to get a membership at the River Tennis Club, they will most likely be some of the best private tennis lessons in the city.
