About Me

Hi, my name is Randy. I started playing tennis at the age of 10 and played in some tournaments in grade school. But my first love was Track & Field, so I didn't play on the middle school or high school teams. I was a physical education major in college, so I had to take a tennis class for my major. But I tested out of it on the first day and we just played tennis for the entire semester. I did teach my daughters how to play tennis.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is teaching one step at a time. Mastering one skill at a time. From how to hold the racket correctly, to ball control and so on.

I never had any formal coaching for tennis. Randy helped me understand the fundamentals and it definitely made a difference in my game. He’s very supportive and makes corrections in a way that it makes you feel good. My serve, my forehand and backhand definitely improved thanks to Randy.

I took six lessons with Randy starting from a position of no tennis experience. My goal was to get to a point at which I could play with friends and family without being embarrassed or feeling that I'm at a disadvantage. I don't always win, but I now have fun and feel confident playing with new people. I feel totally satisfied that my goals going into the lessons were accomplished by the end. He was accommodating with time and location as well. If your purpose is similar to mine, I would highly recommend lessons with Randy.

Myself and a friend took 6 lessons with Randy. I have more experience than the my friend so for me the pace of the lessons were a tad slower than I would have liked. However, Randy was very patient and kept the lessons upbeat! He had some great drills in mind for us and I think did really well trying to accomodate our different skill levels. It was a fun and enjoyable. I do feel like I have improved on the basics with lessons from Randy and that was my goal! I would recommend Randy to other in the future if they are wanting to get started with basics! Overall I am satisfied with my experience. Thank you so much!
