About Me
Hi, my name is Nicholas and I am a PTR certified tennis instructor. I have coached for Boca Pointe Country Club, Addison Reserve Country Club and Sunrise Tennis Academy. I have also worked as a tennis instructor/hitting partner for the elite players training program at Merion Cricket Club in Haverford,PA. I have extensive experience teaching private lessons. I played college tennis for Kutztown University. I currently compete in men's open singles tournaments in the middle states (ranked as high as # 3, currently #6) and continue to train to improve my game and obtain a higher ranking. I also compete in mixed doubles USTA events, and just recently competed/qualified for mixed 8.0 and 9.0 Nationals in Tucson AZ in 2013. I was born in France and lived there for 14 years, and have dual citizenship. (France/US)
Teaching Style
I emphasize proper stroke technique, consistency and superior fitness. This translates to a lot of movement drills. I also emphasize mental strength/ability to focus as well as strategy. In a basic lesson with me, a player could expect to hit a lot of balls, both from the forehand and backhand side, some volleys/overheads and also spending some time on serves and return. I will focus on helping the student become consistent with these strokes before talking about adding power and being more aggressive.

Nick has been great with Dylan, who can be a little challenging at timesđ
Great tennis coach!!!
Today was our last tennis lesson with Nicholas, and I can tell that he is a great tennis coach with lots of skills, very professional and my daughters had a great time learning tennis with Nick. He was always punctual and had great energy. He worked with them correcting their swing and teaching them techniques with lots of patience. I highly recommend him.
My daughters had their first class with Nick yesterday and it went very well, they really enjoyed it. He was very punctual and very professional. I could see that he has very good teaching skills and is good with teenagers.
I would definitely recommend Nicholas. Iâm an advanced beginner and he was excellent at teaching me technique and focusing on developing good habits from the get-go.
Heâs very personable and patient and made me repeat my forehand and backhand over and over and over again teaching me technique on every single shot. I really enjoyed my lesson.
Nick is a great teacher
Instructor is excellent, very patient and knowledgeable, looking forward to working with him.
Great coach and hitting partner!
Professional, excellent high-performance player and coach, he was the ideal hitting partner. Highest recommendation for coaching, sparring, or practice play. Fabulous!
My wife and I love working with Nick. Very talented and knowledgeable. Shaping us up to be great tennis players!!
Iâve taken over 10 lessons with Nick. As a beginner, he was mindful to evaluate my abilities and goals. Always a true professional, he has made each lesson fun but has always challenged me to improve. It has been an awesome experience learning to play with him and I look forward to more lessons !!
Our son is enjoying his lessons with Nicholas. Second week in and we already seeing improvements. Right off the bat he made changes and recommendations in balls and racquets to use. I was skeptical at first but he was 100% spot on. We trust in Nick and are looking forward to future lessons as our sonâs skills grow.
Very professional and pretty patient with our beginners.
My son enjoyed his lessons with Nick very much. Nick was very focused on my son's techniques which he was very important to my son. Nick is also very patient with his students.
Nicholas trained with my 8 year old son for about a year until we relocated out of the area-otherwise, we'd still be working with him! Nicholas was able to find out what motivated my son and challenged him to improve his tennis skills. He did this in a manner which was fun and on his level. Nicholas was very accommodating with scheduling and made attending lessons easy.
It was our pleasure to have known and worked with Nicholas. I would highly recommend him as a tennis instructor.
My game improved significantly while working with Nick. Guys I hadn't played in months commented that I was a different player, and I'm winning against players who used to beat me easily. I can't recommend Nick highly enough.
This was my first time ever attempting to play tennis, and I was so impressed with Nicholas. He is the ultimate professional, and yet never once did I feel incompetent. He had to start with the very basics with me, and I was impressed that I was able to hit the ball back and forth as well as I did - thanks to Nicholas's great instruction and patience! He is an excellent instructor!
We have truly enjoyed our lessons and Nicholas is terrific! My son, Nicholas, has really improved his game to the point of being evaluated for competitive play.
Nicholas is always reliable and professional. He really gets down to my 9 year old son's level to motivate, challenge and instruct while having fun. My son's game has improved tremendously and he loves playing tennis! We highly recommend Nicholas.
Iâll say this right there: Lesson 1 showed me pretty quickly that, regardless of your past experience with sports, the tennis court isnât a place to be proud. If youâre anything like me, youâre going to make mistakes. Youâre going to swing and hit the ball out of the âcontainment areaâ. Youâll hit it into the net. Youâll hit it into your instructor. And sometimes, youâre gonna swing and not hit it at all.
Tennis uses parts of your body that are different from almost any sport Iâd ever participated in before. Oddly enough, the sport it reminded me most of was fencing. The short bursts of energy, the closed stance. The fact that youâre using a tool as an extension of your body.
It was initially a little disheartening to not be instantly great at something. That said, I had a pretty fantastic instructor. Nick, my instructor, took a special trip out to Philly (as his normal radius is a little closer to where I grew up around Delaware County, PA) to help this first-timer learn the ropes. It was obvious that he was a total professional, coming armed with rackets, a super sweet set of tennis whites, and enough balls to let me go a little buck wild with the occasional POWER SWING. Patient and experienced, Nick spoke in a way that even someone who had never watched a match would understand. That someone was me.
It was really exciting for me to eventually, over the course of the hour, start to connect with the ball, and play a little tennis with my mom (whoâs been playing for years now and basically showed me up the entire time). I can definitely see myself hitting the court again (and, come on, who can resist rocking those little skirts?!)
If I were trying to get into tennis shape, I would absolutely use this service, and fully recommend Nick. I also think he would be great for people who are trying to get their kids into a sport but might not know where to start.
He is a very knowledgeable and helpful and is good at giving instruction. If you are serious about playing tennis I would definitely suggest taking lessons with him. He has helped both my son with his game and has given myself and my husband good advise about helping him get ready for college. He is very nice and personable to talk to and is willing to help you. My son has improved and is challenged during lessons which is what my son likes the most.
