About Me
My name is Nick and I am an experienced tennis instructor with over five years of coaching experience. I coach junior and adult clinics and have been doing private and semi-private lessons for the past three years. I have a B.S. in sport management in the parks, recreation and tourism management from North Carolina State University and specialized in tennis instruction and teaching for my internship upon graduating in the program.
I am looking to help any tennis players interested in the Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham and Wake Forest areas with an excitement for tennis. I am flexible on weekdays and weekends and am happy to work around your schedule. I appreciate your time and effort and am excited to help your tennis game and fitness improve today.
Teaching Style
The areas of tennis instruction that I focus on with my players includes all the various handle grips, footwork and agility, court knowledge and presence, conditioning, groundstrokes, net game and volleys, serving and having fun and enjoying the game of tennis.
I structure my lessons with a dynamic warm up and stretching, followed by groundstroke work emphasizing forehands and backhands, footwork and movement. Then I finish up with serving and net game followed by a cool down and stretch.

Coach Nick is great. He has been coaching my kids for two years! He is very patient and let's the kids have fun, but he is always teaching. My kids started with him at age 5 and 8. I highly recommend him.
I highly recommend Nick as an instructor! He is knowledgeable about the game and strategies, and while he always has a plan for the lessons, he is willing to change things to fit the needs of the students. I have been playing tennis for quite a while, but I feel that Nick has really helped me work on my tennis fundamentals, and I saw improvements in my game after just a few lessons.
He got me back into good shape after many years without playing tennis. He is a very patient and dedicated coach. He has a very good sense of humor, he is responsible and knowledgeable of tennis according to your experience, age, purposes and goals. He knows how to guide you and is always very positive regarding your evolution in the game. He uses the time of each lesson very well.
When I began taking lessons with Nick, I had basically never held a tennis racket before, and I was a very bad player. Through hard work and long months of encouragement from Nick, I tried out for my school's varsity tennis team and sadly didn't make it. I wanted to quit tennis, but with the help of my parents and Nick, I returned to playing tennis. Nick made me realize that tennis is much more than just tryouts for a high school team; it is a sport that I can play and enjoy for the rest of my life. I continued training, this time just for fun, and when I tried out again for the tennis team the following year, I made the cut. Being on the tennis team was one of the best experiences I've had in sports during my entire life, and I honestly could not have done it without Nick. His constant support and encouragement for me to continue playing tennis despite adversity and despite my willingness to quit at many moments was pivotal for me to still be playing tennis today. Aside from teaching me about tennis, Nick became also a close friend and a mentor, something for which I am very grateful for. A lot of people have told me that I am a completely different player now from when I started lessons two years ago, and that is thanks to Nick. I totally recommend him as a tennis coach!
We found Nick when our kids' first tennis coach moved. Nick has been not only a great coach, but a great role model for our kids. The boys look forward to their lessons, and Nick gives us feedback on their progress. Nick is flexible to support working parents and kids who also enjoy other activities.
