About Me

I have been a high-level competitive tennis player for many years, progressing through USTA tournaments on into the Division I collegiate level at Sacred Heart University. Before Sacred Heart, I played a couple of years at Division III Allegheny College where I was a two-time all-conference singles selection, became captain as a junior and was a representative of the team on the student athletic advisory committee. At Sacred Heart, I was named captain my senior season and received the student-athlete award for the highest GPA on the team after my first semester. In addition to my playing experience, I have many years of coaching experience. I am a current USPTA Elite Professional, and have organized and run my own private lessons and programs. I have also coached at various country and athletic clubs, along with having been an assistant men’s coach at Army West Point. I am currently coaching out of Wayne Indoor Tennis in Wayne, NJ during indoor season, Nutley Tennis Club in Nutley, NJ and locally outdoors in Northern NJ, and am eager and available to work with you when our schedules can match.

Teaching Style

Depending on the player's level, I will run either higher level drills/point construction/strategic play or basic fundamentals of the game with a beginner. I believe in mixing in live-ball with structured drilling in order to maximize the duration of the lesson. I will look to focus on the player's strengths and hone in on the importance of using them while also improving weaknesses. I work best with intermediate to advanced players who have goals beyond just playing for fun.
