About Me

Hello! My name is Justin and I am a USC graduate working in the tennis world for Sense Arena. I played club tennis at USC, and have continued adding to my coaching repertoire and experience. I worked during the pandemic for almost 2 years at Sherwood Country Club as a tennis pro there, and am now in Sherman Oaks looking to take on some clients interested in higher level strategy and form analysis around the area in more of a hitting lesson live ball style, levels ranging from high level juniors and high school students through tournament playing or competitive adult players. I’m free evenings during the week and at differing times on the weekends.

Teaching Style

I like to structure my lessons to the individual needs of the student, whether that be live ball, drills, or match play, but much prefer a more live ball style lesson as I do not have access to a full ball hopper. I like to start off with a baseline warm up before jumping into any specifics. Then, we will pick a focus for that lesson, whether it be strategic gameplay and tactics, offense and defense variations, or anything your student has in mind. I emphasize a "work hard play hard" mentality- what you put in IS what you will get out. And yes, always love to incorporate new technology!

My eleven year old son really enjoyed his lessons with Justin-- he's funny, patient and is great with kids. He helped my son a great deal with his backhand and serves and boosted his confidence overall. We hope to keep taking lessons when Justin's school schedule allows. Highly recommend!

Justin was extremely knowledgeable and personable to my young daughter. He made the lessons fun while teaching her techniques and tennis basics. I would highly recommend him to teach all levels of tennis instructions.

I’ve had a couple hitting lessons with and Justin, and I thought they went really well. He’s a very solid player, who can keep a rally going for a long time.

We started out just warming up, then after about ten minutes, he asked me what specific type of shot I wanted to work into some points, and he came up with drills that catered to my specified shots.

Pros:
He was very positive and upbeat, and he gave several helpful strategical ideas to me throughout each lesson
Cons:
If you are someone looking for more technical instruction, I wouldn’t recommend Justin. He is more of a strategy specialist, but he can still help with the technique of new shots being developed for new strategies.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Justin if you are a serious player looking to raise the level of your game.
