About Me
Tennis is really near and dear to my heart. I've grown up playing and teaching and love giving back and helping those who are willing to learn. I began playing at age six and have continued my entire life. In my junior years, I competed for my high school team and played USTA tournaments. As I got older I always stayed involved in the game. I worked at the Pilot Pen Tournament for a few years. I have been teaching tennis and coaching for about six years now. Previously I was also a high school tennis coach at Seymour High School until my family and I decided to make the move to San Antonio Tx.

Darrell was an awesome tennis instructor. I took one on one lessons with him when I was in CT. He was very easy to learn from and also very patient. He knows all there is to know about the game, and he does a great job of sharing it. I would highly recommend taking lessons with him.
I started out playing tennis my freshman year with a coach that made me almost hate the sport. She never encouraged me or made me feel I was good enough, I never learned anything from her. My second year I had the pleasure of Darrell becoming my coach and he made me love the sport again. He taught me most skills I know, encouraged me everyday to be better even when he thought I did my best, and he was a constant reminder to do it for fun, otherwise why do it? He’s not only a great coach but he’s also a great person. I highly recommend him.
Darrell was my high school sophomore and junior year tennis coach. He really inspired my motivation to continue with tennis as I only began playing my sophomore year of high school. He had so much patience to deal with the new players and he had great strategy for effectively including us all in practice drills. Great person and would highly recommend him as a tennis lesson instructor.
Very positive approach. Always understanding of things that could be problematic and very welcoming to new people. Could have pushed certain players a bit harder, tended to take it easy on some who may have needed to try harder. Overall great coach.
Darrell is an excellent teacher and very accommodating. He is very patient, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable of the game. For a beginner like me he is perfect. I definitely feel like I am going to learn enough about the game and at a comfortable pace to play it for a long time. I look forward to my future lessons.
