About Me
Hi, my name is Darin. I am a PTR Certified tennis instructor. Encouraged by my parents and a family of tennis players to pick up the sport at age five, I began taking lessons as a preteen and was teaching lessons himself by age fourteen.
After a successful high school tennis career, I apprenticed under Richard Strumpf in Hawaii to become a certified instructor, during which time I coordinated the Tennis Angels event and worked with pros such as Vic Braden. I then coached high school teams back at home in New York, and throughout college taught tennis and skiing lessons at the Whiteface Club in Lake Placid.
In the decade since, I have continued teaching and playing and I'm looking forward to working with new students in Atlanta. I love working with children, juniors, and adult students, and I'm happy to work around your schedule and preferred locations.
Teaching Style
I specialize in working with my students learning style to create an environment that is not stressful and most conducive to advancement. This strategy was developed and encouraged by my work in Hawaii with Richard Strumpf.
I am especially skilled in error detection and can find a way of explaining how to correct this error that works with you as both a player and a person. I find it very important to listen to my student and structure my lesson with your abilities and desires in mind. Everyone wants something different out of their lesson and I am ready and able to work with you on a student-focused lesson.

Darin is very professional, knowledgeable, and very patient. His training methodology is scientific. He could observe slight error in my stroke and provide spot on suggestions on how to improve, which is very effective. I felt good and fun learning from him. His tips are very helpful for beginers like me to get the correct form, which is the most important thing at this stage.
