About Me
I help players of all ages build technique, strategy, and confidence on court. I’m Daniel, a tennis coach in North County San Diego with 18 years of playing experience and over 9 years of coaching.
Originally from Vienna, Austria, I was ranked #12 nationally as a junior. I trained at top academies in Europe and South America, including Burgenland Tennis Academy, ÖLSZ Südstadt (home to former ATP #3 Dominic Thiem and top 100 player Jurij Rodionov), and CTK Training Center Kirmayr in Brazil with former ATP #36 Carlos Kirmayr.
I moved to the US to play college tennis, where I was captain and #1 player at Palomar College, played for San Diego City College (ranked #4 in California), and was later #1 on the UC San Diego club tennis team. I started coaching during my time in college and have since helped 100+ local players of all ages go from beginners to confident, tournament-ready competitors.
Teaching Style
Each lesson starts with a dynamic warm-up, then we move into drills focused on whatever needs the most work, whether that’s forehands, backhands, volleys, serves, or footwork. I like to finish with some rallying or match play, like tiebreaks or point-based drills, so students can use what they practiced in real game situations. Every lesson is planned around the player’s level and goals.

Excellent instructor. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I could tell right away he was very vested in improving my game. He was very observant and gave me small tweaks to improve my swing but was never overwhelming with them. Very encouraging throughout the session, and overall just made it fun.

He cares for his students, he is very patient and has a great eye for every technical detail. He taught me a lot about the game of Tennis and the right shot selections to make for competitive play. Yes, I can travel up to 15 miles to a tennis court in your area.
