About Me

Hello my name is Ryan D, I teach tennis part time to stay active, help others to reach their goals and to strengthen my own progress. I have experience teaching children of all ages, high school/college students, adults and retired adults. I can teach any age group and skill level.

I started playing tennis in high school and learned from my father who played in college (#1 seed). I was also mentored in high school and college by (Dan Bleckenger) who played in Wimbledon in the 70s. I have had extensive training and look forward to our first lesson!

Teaching Style

My philosophy is that from hard work, anything is possible. I started tennis late in life but picked it up quickly because I was taught the correct form. In my opinion, being taught the correct form can make all the difference.

Student Feedback

Excellent coaching by Ryan. As an older student, Ryan was able to quickly identify incorrect habits I had developed over the years, and was able to get me to begin using proper technique. I would highly recommend him

Ed H. - August 11, 2019

Ryan is terrific and has a patient caring way with the 8 yr old girls in this, there first venture with tennis. He made it fun and they are hooked.

Pam H. - September 5, 2014

I decided to return to the game of tennis after a 25 year lay off. Ryan has been an excellent coach in helping me do that. He's improved my groundstrokes and especially helped me to improve my volley which was never something I did well. We are now working on my serve. So far, he's given me a few tips that I had never heard before, even when I did play.
. I am considerably older than Ryan and worried that there would be a big generation gap. But that hasn't been the case. He pushes me hard but never goes too far and he does it with good humor and patience.
