Hi, my name is Richard. I'm from Hampstead Maryland, I'm a Uspta Certified Pro and a Division 3 College Tennis Coach. I've taught all ages and skill levels.A lot of my junior students have gone on to play college tennis some with scholarships. I play USPTA sanctioned tournaments.
I specialize in the serve. It's the most abused stroke in the game. But with all the strokes in the game,I teach each stroke in progression.I break them down from start to finish,so each student can see and understand each stroke correctly. I really stress learning good footwork to make each stroke easier to preform. Noting that each student is different and will have variations in their game. I do a lot of ball feeding, hand feeding, and hitting with students and utilize video and a ball machine and of course stretching before practice. Homework before next lesson. Most of all having fun.

Richard is great. Kids enjoy the classes,I'm glad we found a good coach. He is flexible with his training sessions as well.
Rich is a knowledgeable coach. But we are having bad experience in schedule. One session was delayed by 1 hour without any notice. Another session was totally missed. It was a no show from coach. A third session is also a miss with no response from coach. It is not a.good use of money.
My daughter is learning a lot of good basic skills from Richard and is very happy with the lessons. He has been working to correct her footwork, currently. He has a lot of patience. We are looking forward to her future lessons with Richard.
Richard is a good teacher. He wants all his students to learn the correct techniques. He communicates well and he is friendly and patient. I have learned a lot from him.
Best tennis teacher I've had. He is very effective.
Richard is an excellent tennis coach for my daughter. He offered good advice about what she might be doing wrong, but never in a way that made her feel bad. I highly recommend him as coach!!
Very experienced trainer, patient, straight to the point. Best tennis lesson I ever had
Great 1st lesson! Kept our young daughter focused and engaged for over an hour (which is never easy) covering the basics. Very focused on form and developing good habits.
Our daughter is excited about her next lesson!
My two girls, 11&12 signed up to play tennis for after school activity. Needless to say both girls NEVER held a racket. They are not athletic at all! I decided to try the tennis lesson so they didn't look ridiculous at try out. They had the first lesson on Sunday. Richard was very prompt in returning my calls and texts. He was friendly and seemed to have the giggling girls under control. The girls were a bit nervous but Richard put them at ease. Both girls highly enjoyed their lessons. They were asking when the next lesson was. That's a good sign, right?
I think so ;)
Coach Richard is awesome!
My 3rd grader boy with previous group tennis lesson experiences has made huge improvement only after couple of lessons from him.
He teaches modern techniques, beautiful postures, is extremely patient and clearly demonstrates passions on tennis.
After each lesson, he tells me what they practiced during the session and what to practice at home until next time.
I never had problem scheduling lessons with him so far.
My daughter fell in love with Tennis after just one session with Richard. I'm sure it had a lot to do with his encouraging , yet demanding , teaching style.
Rich is very responsive to texts and voicemails. He also loves to coach and is very proficient at tennis . He focuses on the basics and fundamentals with a strong foundation for technique, rather than teaching a quick fix. .
