I am graduate of Texas Tech University with degree in exercise and sports science. While at Texas Tech, I was the No. 1 player for the tennis team, and was the winningest player in university’s history. Since my graduation, I have been coaching professionally, and working with some of the best junior players in the world. I was the head coach at the IMG Bollettieri academy from 2000 to 2003 where I served as a traveling coach for the academy’s top players. In 2003, I became the assistant women’s tennis coach at the University of Arizona where I helped the team reach a top-25 ranking and coached the No. 1 doubles team in the country, Dianne Hollands and Maja Mlakar. In 2005, I started coaching at my alma mater, Texas Tech University, as men’s assistant coach and lead the team to two straight NCAA appearances and a top-25 ranking. After two years at the Texas Tech, I moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina and was coaching Europe’s No. 1 junior at the time, Mirza Basic (BIH). I was also a development coach for Tennis Europe, and was coaching more than 20 top 10 juniors in Europe during this time: Angelina Kalinina (UKR), Iryna Shymanovich (BLR), Bogdan Borza (ROU), Petros Chrysochos (CYP), Katarina Jokic (SRB), Denis Klok (UKR), Mathias Siimar (EST), Kenneth Raisma (EST), Juli Terziskaya (BUL), Bojan Jankulovski (MKD) and Natalya Malenko (UKR). I have been an ITF Level 2 certified coach since 2005. I was also an ITF tutor for the Tennis Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was in charge of ITF-based coaches' education on the national level for five years.
Currently, I am men's tennis assistant coach at the University of Miami.
When it comes to technique, players’ individuality needs to be taken into consideration more than anything else. Characteristics of the modern technique include simplicity, effectiveness and adoptability. Simple technique will prevent injuries. Effective technique results in consistency and power. Adoptable technique helps players play on different surfaces, different conditions and against different opponents. These are the things I am determined to teach, rather than spending countless hours of teaching players how to have “beautiful strokes.”These are the methods used by the best coaches in the world. Tennis is a complex sport, and it includes technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects. All of these need to be thought at the same time, and if one of them is neglected, players will not be able to reach their full potential. My training program is designed so that players develop in all of these aspects.

He is a highly skilled coach. He has helped me improve my all around game, and has helped me understand the game. He is very knowledgeable and patient with all of his students. I would highly recommend Peter for any student no matter her/his age.
Petar is not only an extremely knowledgeable tennis coach, but also prepares his players for the real world. I appreciate his honesty, professionalism and knowledge.
Petar is a very good person and a professional! I worked many years with Petar when I was a student at Bollettieri tennis academy, and taught me a lot of stuff, especially my volley shots. Later when I needed a coach when I tried to get back on the ATP tour, I also asked Petar to work with me and it was a great experience!
Honestly I only have words of praise and positive experience working with Petar. More than 3 years we worked together and I became a National Champion during that period. We worked sometimes two times per day for two 2 hours each time and I can say that the practices were versatile and always engaging. I believe my consistency and mental focus increased enormously while working with Petar. I would absolutely recommend Petar as a Coach for all levels from beginners to ATP ranked professionals. He is professional and totally dedicated to his job. He has the knowledge and experience with the right dose of discipline.
He is amazing on and off the court. He shows a full commitment and care for his players. It is very important that he cares that his players have good character, discipline and are overall good human beings. It is hard to find someone with his amount of knowledge and experience that is not going to look at you just as his opportunity to make more money. Peter is not that type of a coach and players feel that, which in the end makes them more motivated to do their best. You're lucky if you get a chance to have him as your coach.
I saw him working as a pro junior coach and have only good words about him!!!
I was coached by Petar during my college tennis career at Texas Tech University. Petar was highly respected by the entire team. His ability to develop and motivate players to work hard on the court is remarkable. I would advise everyone who wants to improve his or her tennis game to work with Petar.
I was coached by Petar for more than 2 years. He helped me improve my game significantly while I was playing for Texas Tech University and also for the Bosnian national team. Going into the practice with Petar, I knew that I would work hard, that practice would be challenging and exactly what I needed to work on. Each time, after leaving the court, I felt that I improved in some aspect of my game or that I learned something new that would help me improve. Petar is a great coach and a role model. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to improve their tennis game.
Peter gave my daughter and me six lessons while we were on vacation in FL. Not only was he reliable (always arrived early for the lesson), flexible, and professional, he gave excellent instruction. I had recently changed my stroke and, in just two lessons, Petar helped me work through an issue I'd been unable to resolve with my new swing. We will definitely contact Petar the next time we are in FL.
