About Me

Hi, my name is Juan and I'm a former college All-American. I have over 25 years of teaching, training and competing experience. My teaching experience at local clubs include: Rancho Valencia Resort, Loews Coronado, and La Jolla Tennis Club. I'm also certified and insured as an Elite tennis teaching professional by USPTA.

Teaching Style

Private one-on-one and semi-private lessons. Hitting practice and match play, strategies for singles and doubles matches, as well as footwork and conditioning.

I will cover all the physical, technical, tactical, strategic, and mental/emotional and environmental components of the game.

Physical: motor skills, conditioning, speed/agility.
Technical: tracking skills, shot fundamentals, movement&footwork.
Tactical: consistency, placement, patterns, spin, power, shot selection.
Strategic: recognizing strengths/weakness, game style, game situations.
Mental: confidence, concentration, goal setting, competitive readiness.
Environmental: fun, social, competitive.
