Hello! My name is Ben and I live in northwest Philadelphia. I've been playing tennis for the past 22 years of my life. I have had the opportunity to play competitively in USTA as a junior at the local, middle states, and national level. I spent two years playing club tennis at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to playing competitively I have 5 years of experience managing summer tennis camps for children ages 5 - 18. During my time as site manager for National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) I was responsible for the individual growth of all children both on and off the court. I carefully curated a tennis and life skills curriculum that would support talent development. Through my time with NJTL I helped build a love of the game for children who were completely new the sport. In our time together countless children went from novice to intermediate through carefully and intentionally planned drills of all aspects of the game including stroke technique, rules, and etiquette/sportsmanship.
I would be pleased to support you in your journey towards becoming a better tennis player!
I have several teaching specialties. First, I love to work with children! I am a career educator in Philadelphia's public schools, so have a passion for the growth and development of young people. I have extensive experience supporting beginner tennis players ages 5-18. I lean on carefully created tennis curriculum and a scaffolded approach to building skills and knowledge required to be successful on the court.
In addition, the majority of my competitive tennis experience includes doubles. I consider myself a doubles specialist and would love to work with individuals and groups looking to build the specific techniques, skillset, and strategic knowledge needed to be more successful on the court.
