About Me

I have been playing tennis since 1952 ( of course the game has changed tremendously -- as I like to say the only thing that remains the same is the name). I started teaching tennis to Boy Scouts about 50 years ago. Later I taught tennis in various youth programs in St.Louis , Detroit, Richmond and Baton Rouge. I am an official with the USTA (umpire and referee).

Teaching Style

Only teach what the student wants to learn. However, emphasis is on the backhand (one and two-handed) and serve (flat, slice, topspin). There are optional off-court drills (homework). I encourage the use of transition balls (red, orange, green), which are sanctioned by the USTA and ITF. We use videos in all lessons to facilitate the teaching process.
