About Me
One of seven children who were all tennis players, I developed a love for the game as a child. I attended college on a tennis scholarship then started a career as a school teacher. During the last 22 years of being a teacher, I have relocated to Leland, Michigan, where I am the director of tennis for the Leland Country Club, a private club with more than 700 members. During the school year, I also teach tennis, primarily for the Mardy Fish Foundation, where I am the head tennis pro. Besides tennis, I am also a nationally ranked table tennis player. I have two children, who are both tennis players, and an 85-year-old mother, who plays tennis three times a week.
Teaching Style
I specialize in teaching young children the game of tennis. I make it fun for them and teach them skills along the way. With more experienced juniors and adults, I ask them what they want from their tennis lesson, and go from there. My group lessons are quite popular. I have a game-based philosophy of teaching as opposed to drill-based, but if a client wants to drill, I'll drill.
