About Me
Hello, my name is Matt. I am a triplet from Moline, Illinois. I came to St. Louis after undergraduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I received my master's of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biosecurity. I have been teaching tennis now for 6 years.
Teaching Style
I like to teach one or two strokes per day and really emphasize technique to start the lesson (unless person is advanced). To start, we warm up with mini tennis and gradually move back to the baseline. We hit at baseline until fully warmed up (50-75 shots in a row without missing with a focus on shot depth), hit cross court on both "deuce" and "ad" sides, hit volley to baseline (mix in overheads), hit volley to volley and then hit a couple of serves. We do drills on specific stroke(s) we are focusing for the lesson. We then play a game or two on specific strokes.
