Hi, my name is Joel. I grew up in northeast Tennessee where I played varsity tennis all four years of high school and was ranked as high as 20th in the state as a junior. After high school, I received a four-year scholarship to the University of Tennessee to be the manager for the Tennessee Men’s Tennis Team. The Volunteers finished the 2010 season ranked 2nd in the nation and won the Southeastern Conference Championship. I am currently a volunteer assistant coach with the Rice Men’s Tennis Team as well as a full time certified tennis professional. For more information please visit my website: www.tennisprojoel.com
Teaching Style & Experience
I have been teaching tennis since I first began working summer tennis camps at a local country club at the age of 17. I enjoy working with beginners all the way up to top college athletes. My specialty is working with beginning tennis players. I enjoy seeing the full progression of the student’s first lesson, through their first match, and into a promising life of playing tennis. I also work with top college athletes teaching players strategic match play. My experience with these athletes would be beneficial to players of all levels.
