About Me
Hello, I'm Joaquim de Almeida, born and raised in Brazil in the city called Rio de Janeiro. I started playing tennis when I was 8 years old and since I was 10 I started to compete and raise my level. At the age of 14 I reached the goal of number 1 in Brazil at my age, after that at 16 I reached the 8th place in Brazil. And I started playing tournaments around the world participating in the junior ITF. I had many sponsors that helped me travel the world to compete. And for this and other reasons such as, hard work and a lot of dedication, I reached the 102nd place in the world in the juniors ranking qualifying for the junior grand slams at the time that the covid happened. I finished my career as a junior itf with 102 in the world and I came to the United States to do university tennis at vcu and now I've been here for 2 years.
Teaching Style
I have many drills for having been to different gyms around the world. And I have a lot of experience in the movments area which is important to be able to hit. The structure is always to make you train a little of each. This involves drills, serves, voleys, and some points as well.
