About Me

Hello! My name is Janis and played college tennis at Caldwell University. I have been playing the #1 singles position, #1 doubles, and #2 doubles at the D2 level. I have also been the captain of my team for the past two years. I started coaching tennis 10 years ago with primarily 10 and under children at summer camps and various tennis clubs such as Saw Mill Club, Pleasantville Tennis Club, Willowbrook Swim and Tennis, and Chestnut Ridge Tennis. At Pleasantville, I was the assistant head tennis pro and there where I ran the summer camp with the head pro. I did many private, semi-private, and group lessons. I am comfortable being a hitting partner as well. I received my PTR certification in 2017 to be a certified tennis instructor.

Teaching Style

During my lessons, I usually like to ask the students what they wish to work/ improve on. I have more of a cooperative coaching style. I emphasize live ball drills over feeding drills.
