About Me
Hi, my name is Jamie. I was born and raised in Reseda, CA and have been playing and teaching tennis for more than 20 years. I started teaching and stringing when I was sixteen for Top Seed Tennis Academy. I joined the USTA (United States Tennis Association) and played tournaments in the 12’s, 14’s, 16’s, and 18-and-under divisions and ended up top 20, in the 18-and-under division in California. I played varsity singles in the #1 position from a freshman to a junior in High School, and was named MVP for all 3 years. I was the only player to make CIF individuals for my High School all three years. After high school, I decided to play on the professional circuit or ITF (International Tennis Federation) doing so from 1998 to 2000.
I started training on red clay courts out in the hills of Santa Clarita where I trained for about 7 to 10 hours at least 6 days a week. I made it to the main draw in my first 3 tournaments, which enabled me to get my world ranking. (It is the minimal amount of tournaments you need to establish a world ranking). After my playing career I have worked in prestigious clubs such as Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center, North Ranch Country Club, and Sherwood Country Club, all a part of Top Seed Tennis Academy. I now teach at Balboa Park where I have been involved with the jr. program as the Director of our Quick Start Program, adult clinics, and currently private lessons of all ages and Director of Wheel Chair Tennis.
