About Me
A Bay Area native, Isaiah gravitated to tennis through the influence of his grandfather, a highly successful player with the US Navy. Under the instruction of great coaches, including former Wimbledon doubles champion Sandy Mayer, Isaiah quickly exceled in the sport and earned a spot on the team at Biola University. At Biola, Isaiah played #1 doubles and #2 singles, and was named to the NAIA Academic All-District team for a combination of academic and athletic achievements.
He started Ignite Tennis Academy in 2019 with the goal of providing the community with exceptional tennis programs that emphasize character development. He works hard with his team of fantastic coaches to find creative ways to engage our students in fun lesson plans that bring out their best. Currently he coaches at the collegiate level with the UC Santa Cruz Men's Tennis Team.
Teaching Style
My lessons are very structured. I key in on a specific technique to work and then use various methods to help the student feel what the right technique feels like. I will take the student through a series of progressions on the technique. Usually I am starting with them on the same side of the net as them using hand feeds and then slowly progressing the shot we are working on.
