About Me
My name is Isabel and I’m 21 years old. I’ve been playing competitive tennis my whole life and I’m currently a senior at Hope International University. I’m a psychology major with a minor in Criminology and I’ve been on my colleges team for all 4 years.
I attended Bishop Alemany High School in LA from 2017-2021. I’ve been coaching throughout Highschool and I’m looking to expand in Orange County! I’ve coached at local high schools and have done group and private lessons from Fullerton to Irvine.
My friends and previous students will describe me as an easygoing and friendly face! I always aim to make learning something new as enjoyable and as rewarding as possible!
Teaching Style
I personally have a more aggressive play style that emphasizes finishing the rally as soon as possible and taking control of the point.
While I can grow and nurture any play style, I usually always encourage and show my students how to play aggressively so that they can win points as fast as possible. I encourage my students to play smart and put pressure on their opponents by acting confidently and level headed no matter what is happening.
For my beginners and intermediate levels, I tend to focus more on technique, especially their serves. I want my students to be confident and feel good about themselves so that it can carry over into actual points. I also begin to expose them to games and point play so they can get first hand experience on what to expect so they can learn and plan accordingly.
For my more experienced and advanced students, I do a lot of match play and points. I believe that experience and adaptability is one of the most important weapons an athlete can have. I believe teaching my students the ability to read and adapt to any and every play style will allow them to become the best athlete they can be.
I also pay extra attention to my students serves as I think it’s the most important stroke of a tennis player. Speaking from experience, a powerful and consistent serve can not only save you in a pinch, but it also intimidates your opponent.
