Teaching Style & Experience
When conducting a lesson I believe it is important to know the current skill level of the student and what he or she hopes to get out of, not just that particular lesson, but from tennis as a whole. After finding out about your tennis ambitions I am able to conduct an effective tennis lesson. I specialize in teaching the use of different grips, stroke production, footwork and match play.

I had a tremendous experience with Harlan as my tennis instructor. Harlan started teaching me the fundamentals of the game, the proper stance, execution forehand and backhand strokes, lob, the overhead hit, drop shot, and volley. Harlan instructed me on the technique of the serve which is probably the most difficult instructing challenge as the pupil must focus on stance, proper toss of ball, and execution of the serve hitting the ball in a specific area of the court. His instruction and patience was incredible working with me ball after ball, encouraging me all the way. I particularly liked the continuous and repetition of hitting the ball back and forth with a Tennis Pro with obviously superior skills incorporating all strokes and maneuvers. Harlan's technical instruction is excellent but it is the way he puts the pupil at ease who is trying to learn and master (goal) the skills of a complex game. In addition, he makes the instruction fun and he made me feel ready to move forward. I appreciate this experience as a former athlete (35 years ago) in college and virtually inactive for 25 years, I was not sure I could regain the feeling for sports again or if I had any athletic skills left. However, Harlan made me feel comfortable and confidant in which I am extremely grateful. It was truly a rewarding experience and I would endorse Harlan to any prospective clients.
