About Me

I am a native of Southampton, England. I have worked with all different levels from true beginners of the sport to upper national level. I have level 1 and 2 LTA qualifications (same as USPTA but from England) and am planning to do the PTR course this spring. Before coming to work in the states I worked at the prestigious Sutton Tennis Academy in London. During my time there I trained full time as a player, but also began coaching. Moving back to Southampton, I began working at the Hampshire Tennis Club where I helped coach many national level players. Every summer since 2008, when I moved to the United States, I have worked at the Warhawk Tennis Camp in Whitewater, Wisconsin, and have since then graduated from UW-Whitewater. I have just recently moved to San Diego after working at Hitters in Middleton, Wisconsin, where I worked with true beginners to upper state/national level juniors. As a player I have been ranked in the top 50 nationally, was high school team national runner up twice, played as high as no. 1 at UW-Whitewater, and was part of Whitewater’s team that achieved its highest-ever ranking of 20 in the nation after reaching the Sweet Sixteen at the national tournament.

Teaching Style

Like I said before, my teaching style is based around the goals the player has in mind. If the player is a tournament player looking to get into match fitness form it would all be based around strategy and point play. If, however, the player is just new to the game, the lesson would be taught with more of a technique based approach. It all depends on what the goals are.
